Chrystia Freeland is a prominent Canadian politician and the current Minister of Finance under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Before entering politics, Freeland had a successful career in journalism, working for several prestigious publications such as the Financial Times, The Globe and Mail, and Reuters. She also authored two books, including Plutocrats: The Rise of the New Global Super-Rich and the Fall of Everyone Else, which became a bestseller.

In 2013, Freeland was elected as a Member of Parliament for Toronto Centre, and in 2015 she joined Trudeau’s cabinet as the Minister of International Trade.
